Oud Spray or Oud Attar

Traditional oud in this region is sold as attar, an oil applied in small amounts with a fingertip or a rollerball. Everything in this collection is a spray perfume instead.

The practical difference comes down to how you wear it. Attar sits very close to the skin and is applied in tiny quantities, which suits mosque, home and close company. A spray disperses more, so it carries into a room and works better at a function or an office. Sprays are also faster to apply and easier to carry.

Neither is better. If you want the scent noticed from a distance, or you want to apply it in five seconds before leaving the house, a spray is the practical choice.

Which Oud Should You Buy

If this is your first oud, start with Oud Vault  or Oud Majesty. Both are smoother than people expect. Real oud can smell medicinal and sharp to someone new to it, and these two are built around sandalwood and clean white oud rather than the raw animalic side of the note. Oud Vault is unisex, so it also works as a shared bottle.

For weddings and functions, go heavier. Smoke & Tobacco or Monaco. A mehndi or walima hall is full of food, flowers and a few hundred people, and a light scent simply disappears in that. This is the one situation where being the strongest fragrance in the room is the point.

If you want oud without the smoke, Oud Seduction  and I Love Oud pair oud with rose. Softer, sweeter, and both work on men and women.

Try 15ML first. Oud is the family people most often regret buying blind, because it is also the family that lasts longest on skin and on clothes. Six of these come in 15ML. A tester box is the other way to sample before committing.

When to Wear Oud

Oud belongs to cold weather and to evenings. Nine of the twelve fragrances here are tagged for winter, and that is not a coincidence.

In Karachi or Lahore heat, oud becomes overwhelming quickly. Heat and humidity push any fragrance harder, and oud is already the densest thing on the shelf. For summer daytime, a citrus or aquatic scent from our men's or women's collections will serve you far better.

Oud earns its place from October onwards, at night, at functions, and in the northern cities where it actually gets cold.

Common Questions

How long do oud perfumes last?

Longer than anything else we make. Our perfumes carry 20% to 30% fragrance oil and most wear 6 to 8 hours on skin, and oud sits at the top of that range because of its heavy base notes. On fabric it lasts considerably longer than on skin.

Is this real oud?

These are oud-family fragrances built around the oud note, made under our own brand and inspired by well-known designer oud compositions. They are not pure agarwood oil, which is one of the most expensive raw materials in perfumery and priced accordingly. What you get is the oud character in a wearable spray at a price that makes sense for regular use.

Do you have oud for women?

Yes. Oud Vault  and Oud Seduction are unisex, and the rose-led ouds suit women particularly well. Oud has never really been a gendered note in this part of the world.

What is the difference between oud perfume and oud attar?

Which oud is best for a wedding?
